At the time of his death he was in the hardware business.
No details about his publishing business are known.

This firm printed at least two series. Information about them is incomplete.

Elizabeth Townsend wrote the first poem "White Dove" in book #2.

This series was introduced by G. W. Hobbs. The exact date is unclear but most sources note the 1850's.
Only two titles from this series have been seen.
