Edward Kearny, New York City
Not much is known about this publisher. He lived his entire life
(1812-1897) in New York City. The firm was active from at least
1839-1848. He succeeded C. Wells, another not very well known
publisher. After Kearny left the publishing business, he was involved
with real estate.
J. P. Giffing who succeeded S. Colman was located at the
same Gold Street address in 1840-1841 and published four books from the
"Mother's Library" at that time. The relationship between Giffing and
Kearny is unknown.
