Publisher's Series

 

The Lothrop firms (D. Lothrop & Co., D. Lothrop Company and Lothrop Publishing Company published quite a number of publishers' series/ libraries. These are multi-volume, multi-authored sets with common cover formats. These series ranged from ten to one hundred volumes. Most often these sets were boxed and the boxes had labels identifying the series/ library. Without the box it is almost impossible to determine which publisher’s series a particular format belonged to. The books rarely noted the series that they are part of. In addition a number of these series are listed in catalogues without a title list.

Below I am including pictures of books which belonged to various as of yet unidentified Lothrop publisher's series.

The first group was published by D. Lothrop & Co.

The next group were published by D. Lothrop Company.
