        These titles were previously published by other firms. The Estes and
          Lauriat first format books were published in 1880.
          
          
          In 1882 Winning His Way was released in board covers as a non series
          volume.
          
          
          The three titles were also released in the late-1890's as Carleton’s
          Famous War Stories. These books are bound in illuminated board covers.
          It is unclear as to whether they are different from the Carleton
          Series
          of Juveniles Format 2 titles. (It appears they are the same.)

          Cloth. Various colors. Gilt title on the cover and gilt
          lettering on the spine. Ever design and lettering in black on the
          cover.
        
        
        
          Format 2
          Illuminated board covers. Starting in 1887.
        
        
          Format 3 Cloth. Red. Black lettering and design on the cover.
          This cover was used by the publisher in a number of series and is not
          "series specific"
        
        
          Format 4 (1901-1910)
          This style was published first by Dana Estes & Company in 1901.

          Cloth. Tan. Line drawn book appropriate illustration on the cover. 7"
