by Madeline Leslie (Harriette Newell Woods Baker)
In 1863 these titles were advertised as "Mrs. Leslie's Juvenile Series
for Girls" as well as the "Little Agnes Library" and first published as
a series with 1864 title page imprints. With the exception of Art and
Artlessness, all of these titles had been previously published.
By 1867 the four titles were only advertised as the Little Agnes
Series.
It appears that all of the Lee and Shepard editions from the beginning
noted "Little Agnes Library" on the spine. The format changed in 1868.
Format 1:
Cloth. Multiple colors seen. Blindstamped. Gilt spine lettering
and decorations. Several full page illustrations. 6.75" x 4.50".
Format 2.
Cloth. Various colors. Gilt lettering on the front and spine.
Several full page illustrations. 7" x 5".
