Title #1 was copyrighted in 1859 by Brown, Taggard and Chase.
Book #2 was copyrighted and first published in 1860 by Brown and
Taggard.
Fred'k A. Brown & Co. and Taggard and Thompson reprinted the
series. These editions have not been seen. Several other publishers
including Allen Brothers and James Miller also printed these books.
Format 1 Brown, Taggard and Chase (First edition). Volume 1 only
Cloth. Various colors seen. Gilt lettering on the cover. 16 mo.
Format 2 Brown and Taggard (volumes 1-2)
Cloth. Various colors. Gilt lettering and elaborate decorative
design on the front cover. Gilt lettering and decoration on the
spine. 6.75" x 4.5".
Illustrated.
This format and the books published by Fred'k A. Brown & Co. and
Taggard and Thompson have not been seen.
