Double Play was released in December, 1870. It was advertised with
Changing Base at that time but no series name was noted.
The first format of both books had blindstamping with the same gilt spine illustration. This format was noted with the first edition
of Changing Base which was before the second book had been published.
The format was unchanged until 1874.
Second format.
Cloth. Green and maroon seen. The cover has gilt lettering of the
title within what appears to be a baseball diamond with two bats at
second base. The spine has gilt lettering and design. Illustrated.
