All of the titles were previously published by Phillips, Sampson.
Authors are shown here for completeness, The titles, when published in
this
series, did not always note authors on the title page. Later when these
volumes were reprinted in the "Mayflower Series for Girls", authors'
names were on the title page.
Originally this series was advertised as a companion set to the
Vacation Story Books. Sold boxed or separately.
This series was published multiple times in 1860's-1870's beginning in
1863 (First editions). Some books are dated, other are not. As of this
time books dated in 1863, 1864, 1867, 1868 and 1870 have been noted. A
number of different embossed cover patterns have been seen. More will
be added as they are obtained
Cloth. Green or red. Blindstamped with an embossed cover
pattern. Gilt decoration and lettering on the spine. Illustrate
6.75" x 5".
