The earlier books note the 301-305 Washington address below the
imprint. Later books have no address. When Volumes #1 and 2 initially
were published, they were part of the Young Folks' Histories. By later
in 1884 they made up the "Epochs" series. This series had been slated
to start with "Civil War" and "Reformation". "Reformation" was listed
in Estes and Lauriat catalogues as early as 1884 but was not
copyrighted until 1887.
Per the Estes and Lauriat catalogues, The Queens of Scotland was a two
volume set in 1887 and The Queens of England was a three volume set.
Cloth. Gilt lettering blocks on the cover and the spine. 16 mo.
In all listings the two "Queens' books" always have multiple volumes. The "Queens of Scotland" below does not note a volume number on its title page and also has the same format as books in the Young Folks' History series. It is unclear where this books belongs. It is placed here for completeness and until this issue can be cleared up.
