George Q. Cannon (1842-1901), a native of Liverpool, England, was an apostle and a significant figure in Mormon history. In 1866 he founded and was the first editor of the "Juvenile Instructor" which was an important magazine in the advancement of the Sunday School movement of the Mormon church.
In 1866 Cannon established George Q. Cannon & Sons. This firm was a bookseller and a publisher. Later it became the Deseret Book Company.

George Q. Cannon & Sons published two series for children/ juveniles.

This series was published in 1891. Volume 1 was printed by the "Juvenile Instructor Office". Books #2 and #3 were published by George Q. Cannon & Sons.
