Century Co., New York
The Century Co. was established in 1881. It formerly was Scribner & Co. Scribner & Co. published Scribner’s Monthly which subsequently was named "The Century". It also published St. Nicholas which continued under the same name.
In the 19th century and early twentieth century the Century Co. published very few series for children and juveniles. But most important among those printed series were hardbound books of the Brownies by Palmer Cox.
Juvenile series that were published in their totality in the
twentieth century are beyond the scope of this bibliography. Of note
are two series authored by Ralph Henry Barbour: Ferry Hill Series and
the Turner Twins Series.
