Daniel Dana, Jr., New York
Daniel Dana, Jr. was an agent for the General Protestant Episcopal Sunday School Union, and Church Book Society (GPESSU) from as early as the mid-1840's. Dana Daniel, Jr. resigned as an agent in November, 1855. He was succeeded by H. Coburn. By 1859 Rev. F. D., Harriman was its agent.
Many books published by the GPESSU during the 1840's and early 1850's
noted Danial Dana, Jr. as the agent.
The series that show Dana as an agent are described on the General
Protestant Episcopal Sunday School Union (GPESSU) page.
During Dana's time as an agent the Sunday School Union published two series for Juveniles: "Helen Morton Series" by Cousin Alice and "Shades of Character" by J. A. Sargant.
Dana is listed on the title page as an agent in the books of both of those series.
In 1856 Danial Dana, Jr. established the publishing firm of Dana & Co. with Joseph Russell and Andrew L. Pudnot. This partnership dissolved in 1857 and from 1857-1860 Daniel Dana, Jr. published books on his namesake imprint.
Two Dana series for juveniles have been seen. They are shown below.
