John P. Haven, New York
John Preston Haven (1800-1880) ran a bookstore that also did publishing as early as 1821. He was an agent for Boston's Crocker & Brewster firm. Later Haven acted as an agent for the American Tract Society.
In 1844 John P. Haven went bankrupt. The plates and stock of the firm were sold.
