Hervey & Co., Worcester, Massachusetts
Nathaniel Hervey (1808-1856) was a 1933 graduate of the Newton
Theological Institute. Hervey was an ordained pastor of the First
Baptist Church. He worked at several ministerial posts until his final
work in Worcester beginning in 1854. He died of consumption in
Worcester in 1856.
Not much is known about Hervey's publishing house. Hervey’s Worcester
imprint appeared on one series "Howland's Worcester Toys". Although
the books are not dated, since Hervey only lived in Worcester between
1854 and 1856, the approximate date of the series is known. S. A.
Howland was a publisher in Worcester in the 1840’s and 1850’s and
published the titles from this series previously.
