Ketterlinus Printing House, Philadelphia
This firm was established in the early 1870's. It was the successor
to E. (Eugene) Ketterlinus & Co., a Philadelphia commercial
lithographer founded in 1842. The firms were mainly known for the
printing of labels, trade cards, billheads, calendars, etc. The house
was purchased by John F. Reyenthaler in 1874. By 1876 Eugene's son,
John L. Ketterlinus (1852-1932) had taken over the business. It was
renamed the Ketterlinus Lithographic Manufacturing Company in 1896. It
was active into the 1970's.
This is a picture of the company's office building at the northwest
corner of 4th Street and Arch Street.
The Ketterlinus Printing House published one series for juveniles.
