D. R. Niver Publishing Company, Albany, New York
D. Russell Niver was born in Albany County, New York in 1850.
He graduated from State Normal College in Albany New York in 1868.
At one point Niver was president of the Russell Publishing Co. The exact dates are unknown.
D. R. Niver succeeded the firm of D. R. Niver & Co. in 1877. The latter firm had been established in about 1875. Niver published "Little Folks' Paper" throughout the 1880's. It also published "Everybody's Paper", "Everybody's Magazine", "Every Youth's Paper" and "Every Child's Paper" from about 1879 into the 1880's.
In 1886 D. R. Niver failed. But by 1887 it appears that Niver was up and publishing as the D. R. Niver Publishing Co. The D. R. Niver Pub. Co. was succeeded by the Sabbath Literature Co.
In the 1890's Niver was a member of a Chicago real estate/ bond firm, Trowbridge & Co. and beginning in 1898 Trowbridge, MacDonald & Niver Co. and then in 1900, Trowbridge & Niver Co. By 1917 Niver was the president of the Farm Mortgage Company

"Treasure Box Stories" was published in 1887 by D. R. Niver Publishing Company. It was sold as one individual book of about 208 pages. Volumes A-E contain all the pages from the individual book divided into five smaller books of about 40 pages each - numbered consecutively.
These books were reprinted by Ward & Drummond in 1889.
