Tappan & Whittemore, Boston
Charles Tappan and John M. Whittemore established this publishing firm in 1850. It succeeded Tappan, Whittemore & Mason (Daniel G. Mason) and in 1855 was succeeded by Whittemore, Niles (Thomas Niles) & Hall (Edward H. Hall)
The firm history is summarized below. All of the companies were at
114 Washington Street.

1848-1850 Tappan, Whittemore & Mason

Tappan & Whittemore published one series for juveniles. In the
early 1850's it printed an eight book set called: Jenny Jingle’s
Little Prattler. The first seven of the eight titles had been
previously published by Wier & White.

Century Juvenile Series - Wier & White
Also in 1852 Phillips, Sampson & Co. published this set. Its series also had eight books but its eighth book was "Pictorial A B C". Jenny Jingle's Little Prattler
It is not clear exactly when the Tappan & Whittemore's books were published. But the cover is the same as the Phillips, Sampson & Co. books. I suspect this edition was published after that one in the 1853 range.
