The firm of Warren & Blakeslee was established by Rev. Israel P. Warren and Gen. Erastus Blakeslee in 1869. Warren had been the long time editing secretary of the American Tract Society in Boston. This firm dissolved in 1871 and was absorbed by the Boston Tract Society. Warren continued to publish on his namesake imprint in 1871-1872. Blakeslee entered the firm of Elliot, Blakeslee & Noyes. The latter house was mainly an art dealer but also published several books.

John G. Broughton and William W. Wyman (1842-1886) met while both worked for the American Tract society in New York City. They joined together and established Broughton & Wyman in 1866.
Here is an advertising cover of Broughton & Wyman.

Israel P. Warren became a partner in 1872 in the successor company, Warren, Broughton & Wyman. Broughton retired in 1873 and the remaining partners established Warren & Wyman. In December, 1875 Thomas Y. Crowell purchased the stereotype plates of books previously published by Warren & Wyman. William W. Wyman went to work as an agent of Crowell at that time.

There are books with the I. P. Warren imprint and the co-publisher is Broughton & Wyman.
