Aunt Louisa's Big Picture Books

This series clearly has the most titles of any of the McLoughlin
juvenile series.
The listings here are from the catalogues and take into account the
yearly additions and deletions. At times several listings were in
disagreement as to which titles were present in which years. Below are
the best guesses.
The books are all in wraps with title appropriate cover pictures. A
number of examples are shown here.
The "Aunt Louisa's Big Picture Books" included various books listed
below from 1876 to about 1888.
Many of these volumes were written by Laura Valentine.
Dating these books is difficult but a close approximation can be done.
First note the ads on the back cover.
The earliest ad page for this series- 1872 is noted right below.
Books that note 25 cents on the top of the cover are mostly from
1873.
Thereafter the number of books in the Aunt Louisa's Big Picture Series
can be compared with the lists below.
31 books were published in 1873. The lists which noted 35-46 books
were published between 1873 and 1875.
