T. H. Carter & Co. introduced this series in the 1840's. The exact numbering of titles is unknown. In 1844 ads noted that the series had four titles.
This series was subsequently published by Wm. Carter, Phillips, Sampson and Company. A number of these titles were later part of the Nettie Lightfoot Series which was published by a number of firms.
