This series was first published by J. & J. Harper in 1833. Subsequently these volumes were published by Harper & Brothers into the 1890’s. Of note is that #20-25 were published in 1834-1835 by Harper & Brothers. There are some examples of books with 1833 title page dates and then 1836 covers which note J. & J. Harper as the publisher.

Uncle Philip is a pseudonym for Francis Lister Hawks.
