This series was published earlier by Davis, Porter & Co. and
Davis, Porter & Coates and then starting in 1867 by Porter &
Coates.
Format 1 Volumes #1-4
Cloth. Various colors. Blindstamped. Earliest volumes have PC embossed
on the front cover with the 712 Sansom Street address on the title
page. Later issues after 1867 the books have a decorative embossing in
the center of the cover. Gilt book specific illustrations on the spine
on the earlier books. 6.5" x 4.375".
Format 2 Volumes #1-4
Cloth. Various colors. Black line drawn decoration on the cover. Gilt lettering on the spine. 6.875" x 4.5".
