The Chesterfieldian Library is noted in some
advertisements to be a
"library" for juveniles. In reviewing some of these books it is highly
questionable if this is really the case. This set is presented here
for
completeness.
In 1844 the Chesterfieldian Library included five titles.

The six book set was published into the early 1860's. In 1864 titles
#1-5 made up the "Toilet Library". Later the five titles were
published as the "Toilet Library" by James Miller.
Advertised as "Manuals for the pocket of the centre-table".
Cloth. Brown. Blindstamped with extensive embossed cover patterns.
Gilt lettering and design on the spine.

By the early 1860's the books of this library were easily identified
by the embossed library name on the cover.
