This library was published by D. & J. Sadlier & Co. beginning in 1861. The book list changed slightly over the years. That can be seen by looking at the lists included here. This library was not designated as the "first series" until about 1871.

Volumes 1-2 in series form published in 1861 (Two formats: Cloth and paper) #1-7 1865-1866 list 3 formats cloth, gilt edges, fancy paper. 6” x 4”.

By 1868 the list had all 13 titles noted above.
