This series was published earlier by John McLoughlin. Books with the
24 Beekman Street address on the title page with the John McLoughlin
imprint but with the 24 Beekman address on the cover with the
McLoughlin Bros. imprint were published in 1859. Thus this series was
published by McLoughlin Bros. as early as it was in business - i. e.
1859. It was listed in the catalogues as late as 1876.
The earlier title of "How a Little Boy Became Lord Mayor of London"
changed to "How George Worthy Became Mayor" in later printings.
This series had previously been published by both John McLoughlin and
Edward Dunigan.
Eight pages. Each page has a colored illustration and text.
Earliest format
Wraps. Common cover of Dame Wonder reading to children. 7.75" x 4.75".
Later edition. Note the address change on the cover.
McLoughlin Bros. was at 30 Beekman between 1863 and 1869.
This later book omits the Beekman address on the cover.
