New in 1866. Seen in the catalogues until 1887 when a new enlarged
edition was advertised. Also published in linen and indestructible
covers.
Previously all of the titles in this series and the the Susie Sunshine
Series made up the twelve volume Sunshine Series.
First format:
Wraps. Book appropriate cover picture. 6" x 4".
Each page is half text and half illustration. 12 pages including
covers.
The earliest book in this format has 30 Beekman Street on the cover.

Note the 30 Beekman address is on the ad page on the back cover. This
indicated an 1866-1869 publication date.
Format 1b.
There are some books in this format that have the ads commonly seen in
Format 2.

Wraps. Book appropriate cover picture. 6.75" x 4.5".
Note the different peripheral cover decoration.
12 pages including the covers. Each page is half picture and half
text.
The back cover ads no longer have the 30 Beekman address. (A post 1870
book)
Format 3:
Wraps. Book appropriate cover picture. 5.5" x 7.5".
There are 12 pages including the covers. The ads indicate a post 1879
book. Uncle Dick's Series was introduced in 1879.
