In 1883-1884 the "Little Picnic Series" was started by D. Lothrop & Co. By 1887 these twelve books were being published in a new format and were known as the "Fairy Ring Series". It was also initially published by D. Lothrop & Co.
The volumes were only sold as a twelve volume set.
