In 1875 these titles were first published. At that time they were listed together as "Four Very Elegant Large - Print Picture-Books".
It was noted that they had a colored frontispiece.

In 1878 D. Lothrop & Co. published a new edition of this series. The titles remained the same.

First Format
Cloth with full multicolor pictorial appliqué on the front cover .(The same for all the titles) 7.75" x 5.75". This format was the 1875 first edition style as well as the cover format for several years thereafter.

(Note that this format lists G. T. Day co-publisher on the title page imprint. This indicates an 1877 or earlier publication date.)

Cloth. Various colors. Front cover has a black line drawn floral illustration along with a non-book specific applique.
