This series was published by Chase & Nichols (1862-1865) as well as Samuel F. Nichols (1865-1868). The titles are all reprints. When Nichols & Hall published these twelve volumes as the successor to Samuel F. Nichols, they were divided into two series: Household Stories for Girls and Select Stories.
