Illustrated
Two cover formats
1. Cloth. Green or beige. Cover has a picture of a baseball player.
Black lettering. 7.25" x 5.25"
2. Cloth. Green. Cover has a picture of a man climbing the rigging on
a ship. Black lettering. 7.25" x 5.25"
The beige colored books appear to be the earliest volumes.
The earlier books (1896) have William L. Allison Co. as the title page
imprint. The later books note W. L. Allison Company as the imprint.
Based on inscriptions and the pattern of the successor Donohue Brothers' volumes, it appears that the covers with the boy on a ship are later than the baseball covers.
