This series of books was published by Lane & Tippett in 1844. Both of the series names for these six books have been seen.

The books were sold either in six separate volumes, one volume that included all four titles, or in three books, each of which contained two titles.

The Animalcule and Gall Insect, the Ant and Spider and the Honey-Bee and Fly were were bound in two titles in one volume editions.

Illustrated

Although none of these books have been seen, the other "small books" series have been seen with marbled boards as well as blindstamped cloth with gilt cover lettering.
