Frederick A. Stokes Company published the first editions of these books. These volumes were reprinted numerous times. After the first edition, the title page or the copyright page indicates the edition print number.

Note that the series was introduced with the publication of volume #2.

Green cloth. Red lettering on the spine and cover. Book specific cover and spine illustration. 7.5" x 5.25"
Each book has seven or eight illustrations from photographs.

Format 2
This format was begun around 1920. Each book has four illustrations which come from photographs. Most, but not all, of these volumes indicate the printing number on the copyright page.
A book as late as 1940 has been seen.
Cloth. Various colors. Applique on the cover matches the frontispiece. Dust jacket duplicates the cover. 7.5" x 5.25"
