William D. Ticknor published the first editions of all four titles in
this series. Note that none of the books state that Jacob Abbott was
the author. After 1843 the firm was styled William D. Ticknor &
Co.
Books #3 and 4 were published on December 31, 1841 with title page
imprints of 1842. Subsequently this firm published additional editions
of all four volumes between 1842 and 1845.
