In 1874 D. Lothrop & Co. published this series with Volumes #1-2.
In 1881 title # 1 was deleted and #3-6 were added to make this five
volume set.
Titles #4 and #6 were previously part of the "Island
Home Series" published in the mid-1870's.
Volumes #3 and #5 were part of the previously published (mid 1870's) "Stories
of the World's Progress".
Later these titles were all in the "Young Folk's Series"
These titles were previously published by other firms.
The format for the series when it had only the first two books is
shown directly below.
The format for the series when it included all five books is unknown.
