Although she is not mentioned, Sarah Stuart Robbins wrote the titles
in this series.
By October, 1870 these six titles were listed together as the
Ledgeside
Series. Thus, prior to that the titles were not part of a series
although when title #2 was released, ads in the book noted it was
uniform with Squire Downing’s Heirs.
Editions have been noted in 1870, 1871, 1874,1879, 1880, 1882.
Cloth. Various colors. Blindstamped. 16 mo.
(Most likely later editions from the early-mid 1870's have black
decorative patterns on the front cover.
