This five volume set was published by Ticknor, Reed and Fields in
September, 1851.
These volumes are all reprints. The copyright dates which were found
in earlier editions are noted above. (Numerous publishers printed
theses titles)
Although there appears to be general acceptance that these books were authored by Francis Hawks, the copyright was by S. G. Goodrich (Peter Parley)
