This series was introduced by Henry Hoyt in 1871. A second format in
late 1874 was published. This format had only six titles. It appears
that the original "Little People's Library" was split into two series.
The first six titles continued as the "Little People's Library". Titles
#7-12 became the "Clever Little Library"
Each book has an illustrated title page. Illustrations noted.

Cloth. Gilt illustration on the cover. Gilt lettering and
decoration on the spine. 6" x 4".
Format 2
Chrome. Multiple colors. Applique on the front cover.
