Madeline Leslie is a pseudonym of Harriette Newell Woods Baker.
Some advertisements noted book #6 as "Never Give Up; or, The Young
Housekeeper". It appears that this volume was not published and
instead "I'll Try" was book #6. In some of these same ads Volume 7 in
the series is listed as "The Rich Poor and the Poor Rich; or, Little
Agnes". It is believed that this title was not published within this
series. Of note is a book entitled "Old Moll and Little Agnes; or, The
Rich Poor and the Poor Rich". This volume was published as a non
series volume by Shepard, Clark and Company in 1857.
