Phinney, Blakeman & Mason published the first editions of these two volumes in 1861. Books in 1862 published by Blakeman & Mason have been noted.

Oakley & Mason as well as Oakley, Mason & Co. reprinted the two volume series. There were also editions in 1867 and 1870. Mason, Baker and Pratt also reprinted this set.

Illustrated with colored plates and black and white pictures.

Cloth. Brown. Blindstamped. Embossed cover pattern. Spine gilt lettering with an illustration of a giraffe. 5" x 7.5".
(The cover of the Oakley & Mason book has the same format but the spine only has gilt lettering without the illustration.)
