"Boys and Boys' Library" (Volume #1-6) and "Elsie Wood Series" (Volumes #7-12) were first sold as a set in 1872 by D. Lothrop & Co. Neddie and Maggie Library was introduced in 1874.
The "Elsie Wood Library" and the "Boys and Boys' Library" are both six title series that were sold as boxed sets. The twelve books were combined to make up one boxed set-the Neddie and Maggie Library. The volumes all have the same format. The "Neddie and Maggie" series was published into the 1890's, the later books by D. Lothrop Company. The D. Lothrop Company titles are 24 mo. with illuminated board covers. (Shown below)
