E. P. Dutton & Co. began this series in about 1877 with volumes 1-3. In 1882 the list for this series included #1-7.
Of note is that 1881 advertisements stated that "Ethel's Adventure" was being added to the series. But in 1882 the list of seven titles did not include "Ethel's Adventure".
Only certainty at this time is that this series was published between 1877 and 1882. A number of the titles were published later outside of this series.
In 1882 new chromo covers were issued.
