This six volume series was introduced in 1870. The books were copyrighted in 1869. Initially the series was advertised with books #1-3. Later a boxed set with volumes #1-5 could be purchased. All six titles were noted in early 1870 ads.
By 1881 the Rainy Day Library had eight titles, including #2, 3, 5, and 6 from the earlier set.
