In 1866 Ticknor and Fields published book #1.
The first two books were published by Fields, Osgood & Co. in
1870. The first book was a reprint but book #2 was a first edition. At
that time the series contained two books. Subsequently James R. Osgood
printed the four book series with books #3 and 4 as first editions.
