This fourteen book series was published by numerous firms. The
Hazard edition is interesting because although the spine notes Hazard,
the title page states Parrish, Dunning & Mears, another
Philadelphia publisher.
Hazard most likely received the plates from Parrish, Dunning and Mears
when the latter firm went out of business in about 1853. Willis P.
Hazard used its own binding, thus the Hazard name on the spine; but it
probably used the Parrish book contents.
The only Hazard books seen at this time are the Rollo's Philosophy
titles. Of interest is that these titles were first published by Hogan
and Thompson which was succeeded by Parrish, Dunning & Mears, the
company that Hazard got the plates from. It is possible that Hazard
only published these four titles.
