Series
Sheldon & Company published reprints of this series between 1860
and the late 1870's.
Between 1860 and 1864 Sheldon published two different formats
simultaneously. One was the cheaper edition (18 mo.) and the other a
more expensive book (12 mo.)
Known reprint editions have been seen in 1860, 1864, 1865, 1866, 1867,
1868, 1872, 1870's (unknown dates)
Blindstamped books with gilt spine lettering and decorations are
noted until about 1869. Thereafter there is gilt on the covers
with various decorative patterns. See below for the known formats.
Cheaper format 1860 (6.25" x 4")

1860 (6.75" x 4.5"), Expensive version. This is the same format as the
earlier Phillips, Sampson and Co. edition in the late 1850's.
1876-1863 (Cheaper, smaller format)

1864 (6.75" x 4.5") Format unchanged from the larger 1860 volume.
Several undated Sheldon & Co. volumes have been seen. They have the
677 Broadway address on the triple page indicating an
1871-1875 publication date.
