at the same time as the Clark, Austin & Co. publications.

Although the books shown here are Clark, Austin & Smith printings
(ca. 1853-1859), the series was advertised as late as 1863 which would
imply that Clark, Austin & Maynard as well as Clark & Maynard
published these little books.
The Clark & Maynard advertisements do not note a book in wraps. It
sold these books in boxed sets of twelve. I have not seen these volumes
however.
Two formats:
Cloth. Blindstamped with the series' name embossed on the front cover.
Gilt design and lettering on the spine. 3.25" x 2.50".
Wraps. Yellow with green lettering and decoration on the front
cover. 3.25" x 2.50".
