This series was first published by Leavitt & Allen in 1853.
Reprints were published for several years thereafter.
The list above is noted in various advertisements. A number of these
titles also appeared in the "My Favorite Story Books" series (1-5,
7-10, 12).
Other titles have been noted however. "Stories about New York" by Peter Parley with an 1853 Leavitt & Allen title page and a cover that states "Uncle George's Juveniles" has been seen. "Blue Beard" "Beauty and the Beast" have also been seen.

Cloth (two formats seen) and stiff paper covers.
Format 1: Cloth. Various colors. Gilt series and book title within a
decorative pattern on the cover.
Books without the gilt on the cover pattern and lettering have been
seen.
Spine has title and decoration in gilt. 5.5” x 4.5”
This format was published in 1853, 1854 and 1855.

Format 2: Cloth. Various colors. Blindstamped with heart shaped
embossed decoration within which is noted "Uncle George's Juveniles".
The cover decoration and lettering has been seen in both gilt and
plain. 4.625” x 5.875”.
Spine has gilt title and decoration.
