This series was first published by Crosby, Nichols and Company in the late fall of 1852. The earliest title page seen is 1853. All of the volumes are reprints.
#1, #2, and #3 were previously and simultaneously published in the
"Young People's Library".
Book #4 is a combination of both "Alphabet of Birds" and "Alphabet of
Animals". These two books were published in the "Young People's
Library"
Prior to the introduction of this series books #5 and #6 were
published as non series books.
