This library was first published by D. Lothrop & Co. in 1876.

In 1881 this series was being published simultaneously with the the two "Round the Fire Libraries". It is presumed (but not certain) that the formats of all of these titles is the same. The "Round the Fire for Girls" and the "Round the For for Boys" each contained four titles.

This series was sold as an eight volume box whereas the the other two series were sold as four volume boxed sets.

None of the books in this series have been seen. Of note, is that a format of these titles which is not part of this series that has a cover applique and a black stamped design has been noted.
