Working and Winning Series
Published by Henry Hoyt
1. Working and Winning; or, The Deaf Boy's Triumph | (Copyright 1862) | by William M. Thayer |
This series is noted in 1867 ads as being a five title series. The
only volume that I can determine was in this series is noted above and
it was published five years before the series was advertised.
Other information about this series is forthcoming (hopefully).
Below is a picture of the first edition of Working and Winning by
Thayer. It is presumed (but not known definitively) , that the books of
the series have a different format.
Of note however is that Tim, the Scissors Grinder by Madeline Leslie
has been seen with this same cover format. The Tim book has an 1862
inscription. More volumes with this cover format or the discovery of an
early 1860’s series with both of these titles will be needed before
they are placed into a definitive series.
